Life Care Center of Port St. Lucie, Florida, resident Jessica Marro loves participating in activities.
Marro pretty much goes to all the ones she can, and although she is legally blind and can only see faint outlines of shapes, she doesn’t let that stop her from being involved.
In October 2016, Marro joined the painting group, led by art instructor Jeannie Rubin. Marro helped her put the paint on her paintbrush and cued her on what to do, painting in circles and strokes. The result was a beautiful painting she called “Harvest.”
“She likes to be out of her room and with people in activities,” said Vickie Menzie, activity director. “This was her first masterpiece.”
Marro is continuing to paint with the group when it meets every so often.
Ever honest, when Marro was asked how she likes painting, she said, “It is OK, but I like music better.”
